Happy 4th of July

This will stay at the top all day, look below for new posts.
This is our annual celebration of our nation's birth.   I try not to say "Happy Birthday, America" because the actual birth of our nation took many days.  It took many  meetings, writings and rewritings to get to our Declaration of Independence.  It took our patriots months of talking and meeting to get to the point of no return which was the declaration.
We then had a long war.  A war fought by soldiers who were many times just a ragtag group of men who believed in the nation, who believed in the future.
Since then we have had many wars to keep us free, and to keep the world free from dictators who would take us over.
We had Constitutional Conventions and amendments to the final constitution. We still have the freedom to do that.  Let's all work to keep it that way.
So today instead of Happy Birthday I say
LET FREEDOM RING!

  1. We would be very encouraged in these difficult days in which we live, if we would go back and read the history of those rag-tag armies. G. Washington lost far more battles than he ever won, but like Churchill he never, never, never gave up and neither should we. Cheers to those men and to our Founding Fathers and Mothers!
