I think so, what about you? The Wall Street Journal has an article about the latest incident, there have been more, and as we know even Janet Napolitano warned of Al Qaeda sympathizers in the US. From the WSJ:
Arrests Raise Fears of American Jihad
U.S. counterterrorism officials say 2009 has turned into the year of homegrown jihad, with the unmasking of the most serious suspected terror plots involving Americans in about five years.
U.S. investigators are still trying to determine what drew five young Americans to travel last month to Pakistan, where local authorities allege they had sought to join extremist groups that have attacked U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. U.S. investigators have interviewed some of the men, but haven't verified the information Pakistani officials have released on the case.
The surge in alleged terror cases has raised concerns among counterterrorism officials. Some officials say young men have been swayed by the escalating war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as intensifying Internet recruiting of Westerners by extremist groups.
At a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing last month, experts on terrorism cited the recent cases as evidence that the threat of radicalization, long an issue in Europe, has become a major concern in the U.S.

Hmmm... Maybe Bush Wasn't so Bad After All
From Politico:
Bush Closes the Gap ( but they can't commit to actually saying so, RC)
Bush Closes the Gap ( but they can't commit to actually saying so, RC)
Public Policy Polling:
Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

It's Wonderful They Have Nothing Important going on
The AP reported this:
House panel passes college football playoff bill
House panel passes college football playoff bill
WASHINGTON (AP) - A House subcommittee approved legislation Wednesday aimed at forcing college football to switch to a playoff system to determine its national champion, over the objections of some lawmakers who said Congress has meatier targets to tackle.
I certainly agree with Rep. BarrowThe bill, which faces steep odds, would ban the promotion of a postseason NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision game as a national championship unless it results from a playoff. The measure passed by voice vote in a House Energy and Commerce Committee subcommittee, with one audible "no," from Rep. John Barrow, D-Ga.
"With all due respect, I really think we have more important things to spend our time on," Barrow said before the vote, although he stressed he didn't like the current Bowl Championship Series, either.

Tea Parties and the GOP
Richard Viguerie writing in the American Thinker:
Why leaderless Tea Parties are beating the GOP
Rasmussen reports the Tea Party Movement, which percolated only months ago, is beating the Grand Old Party.
That's amazing -- and good -- news. A nascent grassroots movement is more popular than a long-established political party.
Republican Party leaders should be embarrassed. Instead, the Republican establishment disdains this populist uprising. Rather than embracing this genuine movement, establishment politicians and consultants are calculating how to co-opt, sideline or even defeat the newest phenomenon in politics - tea partiers.
That would be arrogance, not leadership. It could be the downfall of Republican leaders, who have taken the Party of Reagan to the Party of No -- meaning, No Ideas, No Leadership, and No Principles.
What's driving the Tea Party phenomenon? Robert Stacy McCain writes at American Spectator about one tea partier, Rhonda Lee Welsch, who says, "‘It's a systemic problem,' discussing the top-down approach of leaders in both parties who seem indifferent to the concerns of ordinary Americans."

Al Gore vs Sarah Palin
He should have known better than to get into an argument with a strong woman. From Politico here is her reply to his put down:
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin hit back at former Vice President Al Gore on Wednesday for calling her a global warming “denier.”
Speaking to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Wednesday, Gore criticized an op-ed Palin wrote for the Washington Post calling on President Barack Obama to boycott the global climate change conference in Copenhagen.
“The deniers are persisting in an era of unreality. The entire North Polar ice cap is disappearing before our eyes,” Gore said. “What do they think is happening?”
“It's a principle in physics,” Gore said of climate change. “It's like gravity, it exists.”
Palin took to her Facebook page late Wednesday to respond to Gore.
“Perhaps he’s right. Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it,” Palin wrote. “However, he’s wrong in calling me a ‘denier.’ As I noted in my op-ed above and in my original Facebook post on Climategate, I have never denied the existence of climate change. I just don’t think we can primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes.”Palin then turned her response to the so-called “Climategate” story as evidence that scientific findings are “flawed, falsified, or inconclusive.”
“Former Vice President Gore also claimed today that the scientific community has worked on this issue for 20 years, and therefore it is settled science,” Palin wrote. “Well, the Climategate scandal involves the leading experts in this field, and if Climategate is proof of the larger method used over the past 20 years, then Vice President Gore seriously needs to consider that their findings are flawed, falsified, or inconclusive.”
“Vice President Gore, the Climategate scandal exists,” she added. “You might even say that it’s sort of like gravity: you simply can’t deny it.”

Michael Yon Reports from Afghanistan
I get email updates for his new reports. He reported the Iraq war and is now embedded in Afghanistan.
This is his latest email:
This is his latest email:
Greetings,
It's turning cold in Afghanistan. The 2009 fighting season has more or less ended, though we can expect to see reduced fighting until probably March or April. Spring Break in the United States will be Spring Offensive here. Though it's December, our commanders already are talking about Springtime and how to hurt the Taliban while speeding development. Likely the war will reach an all-time peak during 2010. This could be a very bad year for the Taliban.
President Obama's decision to send more troops is popular among the troops here. And for the first time I see a real fighting chance emerging. Though sharply increased fighting should be expected, there are cracks in the Taliban. They are not invincible and we can beat them, and finally I believe we probably actually will. (Touch wood, and pass the ammo...)

Soros Eyes Secretaries
By Matthew Vadum on 12.4.09 @ 6:08AM
History's most notorious Georgian-turned-Russian, the politically astute Joseph Stalin once remarked, "The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything."
The lesson has not been lost on the increasingly notorious Hungarian-cum-American George Soros.
A group backed by Soros is gearing up to steal the 2012 election for President Obama and congressional Democrats by installing left-wing Democrats as secretaries of state across the nation. From such posts, secretaries of state can help tilt the electoral playing field.
This is, of course, the same Soros, the same hyperpolitical left-wing philanthropist who makes no secret of his intention to destroy capitalism. In an interview with Der Spiegel last year, Soros said European-style socialism "is exactly what we need now. I am against market fundamentalism. I think this propaganda that government involvement is always bad has been very successful -- but also very harmful to our society."
The vehicle for this planned hijacking of democracy is a below-the-radar non-federal "527" group called the Secretary of State Project. The entity can accept unlimited financial contributions and doesn't have to disclose them publicly until well after the election.
It was revealed during a panel discussion at the Democratic Party's convention last year that the Democracy Alliance, a financial clearinghouse created by Soros and Progressive insurance magnate Peter B. Lewis, approved the Secretary of State Project as a grantee. The Democracy Alliance aspires to create a permanent political infrastructure of nonprofits, think tanks, media outlets, leadership schools, and activist groups -- a kind of "vast left-wing conspiracy" to compete with the conservative movement. It has brokered more than $100 million in grants to liberal nonprofits, including ACORN.

Understanding Climategate's Hidden Decline
by Marc Shepard
Close followers of the Climategate controversy know that much of the mêlée surrounds an email in which Climate Research Unit (CRU) chief Phil Jones wrote about using “Mike’s Nature Trick” (MNT) to “hide the decline.” And yet, 17 days and thousands of almost exclusively on-line op-eds into this scandal, it still seems very few understand exactly which “decline” was being hidden, what “trick” was used to do so, and why Jones’s words have become the slogan for the greatest scientific fraud in history.
As the mainstream media move from abject denial to dismissive whitewashing, CRU co-conspirators move to Copenhagen for tomorrow’s UN climate meeting, intent on changing the world as we know it based primarily on their now exposed trickery. Add yesterday’s announcement of a UN investigation into the matter, which will no doubt be no less corrupt than those being investigated, and public awareness of how and why that trick was performed is now more vital than ever.
So please allow me to explain in what I hope are easily digestible terms.
First and foremost -- contrary to what you’ve likely read elsewhere in the blogosphere or heard from the few policymakers and pundits actually addressing the issue, it was not the temperature decline the planet has been experiencing since 1998 that Jones and friends conspired to hide. Certainly, the simple fact that the email was sent in November of 1999 should have allayed any such confusion. .....

Remember Pearl Harbor and Dec 7, 2009- Save the Navy Seals
Navy heroes to be put on trial
by Frank Miele
by Frank Miele
From the Daily Interlake in Northwest Montana via Lucianne.comDec. 7: “A date which will live in infamy.”
Those words were spoken 68 years ago by the commander in chief after the United States suffered a terrible blow when the Japanese launched a sneak attack against Pearl Harbor. We should certainly remember that date this year, and honor those Americans who lost their lives then, as well as the heroic soldiers who brought victory four years later over both Japan and Germany in World War II.
But there is another reason to mourn on Dec. 7 this year, and it does not demean the sacrifice of the 2,402 dead from the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 to conclude that Dec. 7, 2009, is also a date that should live in infamy.
It is on that date, this Monday, when three U.S. Navy Seals are scheduled to be arraigned in a court-martial, apparently at Norfolk Naval Station in Norfolk, Va., for the alleged crime of punching a terrorist in the face when taking him into custody in September.
And not just any terrorist either, but one of the most wanted terrorists in the world.
Ahmed Hashim Abed was the mastermind of the terrorist attack on four Blackwater USA security guards who were ambushed while transporting catering supplies in Fallujah, Iraq, and then killed by gunfire and grenades. The true atrocity was that their bodies were then burned and dragged through the city. Finally, two of the mutilated bodies were hung from a bridge over the Euphrates River for the press to photograph.

Folks, This is Even Worse Than it Looks
And more than a little bit on the embarrassing side to report. Somehow this has to be stopped. It is all over the blogs today and really, really distressing. It is hard enough in schools today to keep our children safe from predators but to have this taught is just over the top.
First we read this: (all from Gateway Pundit)
First we read this: (all from Gateway Pundit)
Then today we got this further information:Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings is not exactly a child advocate. Jennings has a record of promoting child porn books to school children and praising NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) leaders.
If you can stand it, watch the video, I can't, I haven't.
Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings founded the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Recently he was appointed by the Obama administration to run the Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools in the US Department of Education. In 2007 Kevin Jennings was paid $273,573.96 as the executive director of GLSEN.
In 2000 GLSEN held an anniversary conference. From the content of the workshops it was clear that the organization was not so much about tolerance as it was about teaching children about sex. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay & Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money.
In this clip one of the activists asks 14 year olds, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?”
