U.S. Helps Radical Muslim Groups Get Taxpayer DollarsGo here to read the comments and discussion on this.
In its fervent crusade to befriend Muslims, the White House will host special workshops this week to provide members of radical Islamic groups with direct access to U.S. government funding, assistance and resources.
While this may sound surreal, it’s reality in the Obama Administration, which has embarked on a never-ending mission to befriend the enemy. Previous efforts include secret meetings between Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and extremist Arab and Muslim groups to discuss national security matters and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s special order allowing the reentry of two radical Islamic academics whose terrorist ties have for years banned them from the U.S.
As contemptible as those moves may seem, the latest effort is even more outrageous. Various government agencies, including the departments of Homeland Security, Agriculture, Education and Health will participate in the White House seminars which were exposed by an independent nonprofit dedicated to monitoring the nation’s security.
The goal is to provide the leaders of groups associated with the parent organization of Hamas and Al Qaeda (Muslim Brotherhood) with tips on cutting through “red tape” when seeking U.S. government access or money. In all 20 national Muslim groups with ties to the global Islamist organization that preaches Jihad are scheduled to participate. Their mission is to obtain cash and other resources from Uncle Sam.
While the U.S. government has kept the event quiet, it was announced in a newsletter by a Saudi-funded group (Islamic Society of North America or ISNA) that was a co-conspirator in a federal terrorist funding case a few years ago. Featured in a Judicial Watch special report on Muslim charities that finance terrorism, ISNA is firmly committed to spreading the radical form of Islam, which is the driving force behind Jihad.
Now the Obama Administration is helping ISNA and its radical Islamic counterparts access American taxpayer resources as well as top government officials.

Two Muslim Writers Make the Case -- Against the Ground Zero Mosque
Good for Raheel Raza and Tarek Fatah. These two Muslim writers make many very good points about the proposed mosque near Ground Zero.
Two simple ones:
New York currently boasts 30 mosques. There is no shortage of worship space.
$100 Million is a lot of money that could go to starving Muslims in other countries.
Three salient ones:
A religious group looking to improve its reputation with Americans would do things like:
Include a synagogue and church in the building.
Include a memorial to the 9/11 victims.
Reduce the size of the building and donate a chunk to the 9/11 victims.
And a big one:
"It's like "permitting a Serbian Orthodox church near the killing fields of Srebrenica where 8,000 Muslim men and boys were slaughtered..."
Sigh.
The argument that to be against a mosque near Ground Zero is counter to America's relgious freedoms is absurd. This isn't about religious freedom. It's about political correctness metastatising into a cancer. Apparently it's cancer of the eye. We are now blind and cannot see clearly. Common sense is absent.
Our hope lies in these two authors -- who are the "good Muslims" we keep hearing about, but never hear from. Well, here they are, we've finally heard from them -- and they are denouncing the location of this mosque as well as their religion's treatment of women and other "bad Muslim" things.
It is good to hear from them. The alleged silent majority of "good Muslims" could learn a lot from these two. And so can anyone who thinks it's okay to build that huge Islamic Center near Ground Zero -- a place where a small group of Muslims killed a large group of Americans.
Go read the whole piece here.

"Git er Done, " The Jawa Report" blog does just that
This is a blog I get updates with RSS feeds (Bloglines, so I read it probably several times a day. ABC has this to say about it:
Civilian Monitors Warn of Others Like 'Jane' on the 'Net Who Are More DangerousBy EAMON McNIFFWhile the rest of America was stunned to hear that a suburban Pennsylvania woman allegedly used the Internet identity of Jihad Jane and tried to join militant jihadists, for a group of 'Net vigilantes it was old news.In fact, at least one of the Web sleuths claims to have alerted the feds to Colleen LaRose's alleged efforts to raise money and recruit fighters for Islamic terrorists and to carry out her own jihad.
Groups like Jawa Report, Quoth the Raven and the YouTube Smackdown Corps claim they had been monitoring LaRose's growing militancy for three years, and watched as the Internet -- particularly YouTube -- fed her fervor.
They also said "Jihad Jane" is not the only one on the Internet that the groups are monitoring."There are certainly many others out there who are more eloquent and appear to be more dangerous from the way they talk," a man calling himself Rusty Shackleford told ABC News.Shackleford, a pen name, says he is a libertarian college professor who created the blog JawaReport in 2004 after he was enraged that Iraqi Islamists had beheaded an American named Nick Berg."It was my way of venting. But mostly it was about countering violent Islamist propaganda, specifically the videos that were being produced by al Qaeda in Iraq and other Salaafist jihadists fighting our troops," he said.Shackleford said his goal from the beginning was combating violent Islamist material and support on the Web."I'm a blogger, but also an activist against violent Islamism. One of the things we do is try and pressure Webhosts to remove Websites that belong to terrorist organizations. An example of this would be the dozen or so times we've successfully had the Taliban's website removed. The websites sometimes pop back up, sometimes not," Shackleford said.Shackleford and other contributors to JawaReport and sites like it noticed YouTube had become a hub for videos and comments in support of violent extremism and attacks against the West and its allies, leading to the creation of the YouTube Smackdown.Shackleford said the groups identify videos in support of violent Islamism and pressure the Web site to take them down, "as they would child pornography or other obscene material."According to the "Quoth the Raven" blog, since the "smackdown" movement began in 2007, users have had over 31,000 videos removed from YouTube, and 695 users suspended. They say LaRose was one of those suspended.
Isn't it great that these people are looking our for us. This is only page 1 of a three page article. It's interesting. Read the rest here.

From the Washington Times:
If you are not familiar with the entire story, read it here.

American Jihadists?
I think so, what about you? The Wall Street Journal has an article about the latest incident, there have been more, and as we know even Janet Napolitano warned of Al Qaeda sympathizers in the US. From the WSJ:
Arrests Raise Fears of American Jihad
U.S. counterterrorism officials say 2009 has turned into the year of homegrown jihad, with the unmasking of the most serious suspected terror plots involving Americans in about five years.
U.S. investigators are still trying to determine what drew five young Americans to travel last month to Pakistan, where local authorities allege they had sought to join extremist groups that have attacked U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. U.S. investigators have interviewed some of the men, but haven't verified the information Pakistani officials have released on the case.
The surge in alleged terror cases has raised concerns among counterterrorism officials. Some officials say young men have been swayed by the escalating war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as intensifying Internet recruiting of Westerners by extremist groups.
At a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing last month, experts on terrorism cited the recent cases as evidence that the threat of radicalization, long an issue in Europe, has become a major concern in the U.S.

Publicity for Terrorists
Or as Eric Holder calls it, trials in NYC. Powerline has a post on it.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his confederates are gearing up for a media spectacle:
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his confederates are gearing up for a media spectacle:
Scott Fenstermaker is a criminal defense lawyer from New York who has represented a number of Guantanamo Bay detainees.A lawyer for one of five men facing trial for the Sept. 11 attacks says the men plan to plead not guilty and use the trial to express their political views.
Attorney Scott Fenstermaker says his client Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali and the others will not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but will tell the jury "why they did it." He says the men will explain "their assessment of American foreign policy."
Fenstermaker met with Ali last week at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay. He says the men, including professed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, have discussed the trial among themselves.
Yes, I'll bet they have. Eric Holder's decision to give them a jury trial must have seemed like a gift from Allah.
