CSPAN's Brian Lamb to Dems: Open them closed doors

The C-SPAN television network is calling on congressional leaders to open health care talks to cameras -- something President Barack Obama promised as a candidate.

Instead the most critical negotiations on Obama's health plan have taken place behind closed doors, as Republicans repeatedly point out. In a Dec. 30 letter to House and Senate leaders released Tuesday, C-SPAN chief executive Brian Lamb asked for negotiations on a compromise bill to be opened up for public viewing, as Democrats work to reconcile differences between legislation passed by the two chambers.

Real Clear Politics has a video of President Obama saying it would be on C-Span during a Democratic debate of 2009. That was then, this is now.

A New Jimmy Carter Book is Out

I'm sitting here this morning listening to C-span's Washington Journal. Mike Evans, author of Jimmy Carter: The Liberal Left and World Chaos: A Carter/Obama Plan That Will Not Work. I'm pretty sure it will run again sometime today or tonight. Be sure to listen, if you can.

This is one of those books we should all read. It may be we feel that way about him already, but this book has all the facts. The liberals are calling in with total disbelief, or the "don't bother me with the facts" syndrome.

I'm planning to order the book, some of you might want to do that, too. We need to get that book list organized and this should be on it.
