I lived in Louisiana for many years and early on I realized it was a "Cargo Cult" state. Since Huey Long they have expected the largesse of government, at either the state or federal level. Now with the largesse of Congress we finally have the great government in the sky that is going to deliver the goods to quite a few states and municipalities in our great nation.
Are the anthropologist going to recognize this for what it is? When exactly did the United States become a nation of the Cargo Cult religion? Was it in the 1930's with FDR? Was in the 1960's with LBJ and the Great Society? Was it because the Baby Boomers could deny nothing to their children? When did we become so dependent? Why are we so helpless? All questions, where are the answers?
